Variety is the spice of life with Holachef!

Holachef, a unique venture that caters from Bhandup to Andheri to residents and offices around the vicinity. An online restaurant which is based on cloud. Sounds interesting, isn’t it? Holachef offers a wide range of dishes from Mexican to Middle-Eastern and from Kashmiri to Chettinad. They maintain the standard of ingredients used in the dishes.

The variety of food can be ordered by simply logging onto their website. However, Kitchen Pops observed and found this dynamic website a bit out of place when it comes to deciding the recipes. Foodie like us needs to keep refreshing the page again and again as the listed dishes usually ends up in the sold out section in few seconds, which makes the user feel on the edge. It gives very little time for users to decide over a meal and order asap.

Although, to talk about the food, it is fresh and delicious. We decided to choose a few chefs from Holachef based on their ratings and how many dishes served. And we short-listed the chefs and dishes we wanted to taste and review. They have carefully hand picked chefs who have either been in the industry in some way or the other or have gained knowledge from their ancestors to reproduce traditional dishes from within their family. All you would find on Holachef are passionate about cooking and serving the best.

Kitchen Pops selection:

  • Shivani Grrover – Arbi Lababdar with Parathas, Chana Chaat, Kadhi Pakoda and Rice
  • Aditi – Orange Lemonade; Creamy Broccoli and Spinach Soup
  • Radhika Khanna – Grilled Chicken and Artichoke
  • Chef Nidhi Sharma – Organic Cold Pressed Watermelon and Mint Cooler
  • Chef Suryaveer Singh Bhuller – Ajwain Fish with Rice and Dal Tadka; Sesame Potatoes; Paneer Chili
  • Indrani Dey – Walnut Brownie

Shivani Grover has a 4 star rating on Holachef, and there is no denying in her cooking skills. We definitely recommend Arbi Lababdar and  Kadhi Pakoda. The tingling taste of Arbi Lababdar will unfurl the ingredients in your mouth. It tastes best with Paranthas. Another excellent dish by Shivani was the Kadhi Pakoda with balanced spices. Shivani used khada masalas in the Kadhi, which made it distinct from the rest. Best served with Rice.

Aditi, is another 4 star chef who has excelled in providing nutritional dishes that is not only tasty, but healthy. We tried the Orange Lemonade, a miracle potion to entice your senses. Kitchen Pops recommends this drink with crushed iced. The second recipe we opted from her was the Creamy Broccoli and Spinach Soup was simply healthy, but not for those who love strong flavors as it was slightly on the bland side.

We were really keen on Radhika Khanna’s Grilled Chicken and Artichoke Salad. She has introduced Thai food in a way the Indians like it. It was a salad to be relished, especially the tangy artichoke laid around the grilled chicken with herbs.

Next to our platter was a 5 star Chef, Nidhi Sharma, who offered us an Organic Cold Pressed Watermelon and Mint Cooler. A brilliant concoction of minty flavors and sweet watermelon. Kitchen Pops recommends it as a perfect summer drink.

Chef Suryaveer Singh Bhuller is known for his non-vegetarian dishes. He loves to experiment with food in a subtle way that doesn’t fork the traditional flavors. Kitchen Pops loved his starters that included Sesame Potatoes and Paneer Chilly Fry. The right amount of ingredients mattered a lot to him, as we noticed in Sesame Potatoes. It was crunchy and mushy, giving it a unique biting experience. Paneer Chilly was dry and perfectly spiced. It is a rare style because others prepare the dish slightly soggy. We also tried his main course, Ajwain Fish with Rice and Dal Tadka. We do not recommend to those who don’t like the strong smell of fish. Dal Tadka, was simply a delicious treat.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Walnut Brownie by Indrani Dey. Kitchen Pops assures you that every bite you take, you will be going a step further to heaven. A must try, if you’re lucky.

Kitchen Pops recommends:
