Le Meridien New Delhi hosted the kids and parents for an interactive session with one of the participants of the India Art Fair – Princess Pea. The idea of meeting Princess Pea was not less than meeting a character from any film or play outside the studio. Princess Pea, is a 33 year old Gurgaon based women, who has big doe eyes and her signature, mask. Got visibility in the year 2009, she is well known for carrying off the ‘living sculpture’ with her. She launched her first series of limited edition sculptures in wood at the India Art Fair 2016. These toys represent Princess Pea and her iconic image symbolizing the rights and values of girl-child in India.

The event had a small workshop, where kids were given a chance to show their creativity with the acts like ‘paint your éclair’, create something using the peas and painting the eggs with Princess Pea. The kids workshop took place in the main kitchen of the hotel which itself was a different experience. The event started with the kids enjoying the creative table, sharing it with famous Princess Pea and the Head Chef. They came up with various ideas and creations like the pea lizards, pea ducklings along with painting the eggs and decorating their own pea éclairs. So it was all with the peas.
IMG_2598Princess Pea believes that art can inspire anyone and especially the young children to see the world from a totally different and creative angle. The session was followed by a specially curated menu for the event, where the dishes had peas in them. From Pea kebabs, Pea samosas to Peas and corn chaat, it was just the perfect to relate to Princess Pea.
What could have been better than spending a day with lovely kids and such a different personality at Le Meridien, New Delhi!
