Love for movies relived @ Filmy Cafe and Bar

Filmy Café and Bar is a perfect place in the heart of the city for the movie lovers. Located above,  famous PVR Plaza, Connaught place, Delhi, the place is all about Hollywood and Bollywood movies and the characters. From Dharmendra to Shahrukh, you will see all of them in something or the other in the café.9d70398eb3021b7d2f940c27f195ac09

The café has space for pax in the area for the Bollywood zone while it also holds special 20 seatings for the Hollywood lovers. Surprisingly, both the areas look totally different with a set of furniture and interiors. The Bollywood section has a Blue and white colored furniture while the Hollywood section has golden brown couches. What is common and great is that they have adorning characters on the wall along with some movie posters and famous dialogues.

The Bollywood section focuses on movies like Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, DDLJ, Andaaz Apna Apna on one of its walls, while the other side is some great dialogues like “bassanti in kutton ke saamne mat naachna”.  The quirky cushion of the place also adds to the filmy beauty along with Hollywood section showcasing 007, Die Another Day etc.

20160131071239 (1)Conceptualized by Modern School, Barakhamba Road pass-out, Thakur Bhuvan Singh, the place came up due to his regular visits to PVR Plaza and the love for food. Bhuvan has earlier helped manage his father’s business of Deez Biryani which today holds 6 outlets in Delhi NCR.

Our movie began with lovely appetizers as Hara-bhara kebab and Chilly Paneer. Both the appetizers were crispy and yummy. With the perfect flavors and dips along, these were really appetizing. We also chose to try their crispy mushrooms as we find this to be a tricky one as a few places. But we were happy to find them to be the perfect ones here.

In salads we were served with Ceaser Salad which is a perfect for the coming summer season. If you are health conscious and prefer salads over fried food, then we assure you that you will fall in love with this one.

We had our interval with a Tequila Sunrise cocktail. The flavors of orange and mango along with tequila made it a very refreshing drink.20160131071221 (2)

For the main course to go in the second half of the movie foodie journey, it was Veg Manchurian and Fried rice. We were also served with interestingly attractive looking Oven Baked Lasagne which was crisp and with a lot of vegetables in it, with a perfect amount of cheese.

The movie went on and it was time for the climax with desserts. Fried chocolate with ice cream was what we choose from their list of options. It was like having a chocolate pakora with vanilla ice cream.

Thus, box-office of restaurants now has this place as a hit entry in the countdown with lovely food and ambiance. We would love to visit this place again as it is a perfect one to enjoy your time with friends. Thanks Neha Bahl for inviting us!
